When the radio shouts in our office, when phones ring and people chat, when all that while I’m doing some very heavy programming, there’s the soundtrack of ‘Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amelie Poulain’ (or as it was released in the States: ‘Amelie’). Hear ye people who never talk to strangers. You’re missing conversations like this one I had while rain came pooring down after a heat wave:

That was close, the car nearly waved you.
- An umbrella. Pretending to stay dry?
As long as the head stays dry…
- I love rain. I used to run around naked in the rain when I was little. Can’t do that anymore.
There’s no age-limit to fun!

Pixar vehicle ‘Cars’ disappointed me. Pixar disappointed me. There was a day whatever these guys churned out was brilliant. The time nobody could come close. I thought my own lukewarm reaction to cars could have been induced by the sheer volume of good animation we’ve seen recently.

And then I saw ‘Over The Hedge’ an hour ago. Dreamworks may not always know what’s charming (think Shark Tale), but this is fresh, funny and not-by-the-book. I hold my breath for ‘Shrek the Third’.

How do mosquito’s manage to fly under the shower even as you splash water at them? Don’t they have tiny wings to get wet and stop flapping?
