It turns out the shape of my ears makes them deafen themselves. That’s just been surgically corrected. At least, partly. The left is once again crystal-clear, the right is now filled with water. Try again thursday. I’m going bonkers in the meantime.

Ah, those painters. What did they really need to paint? Some brushes, paint, canvas. Never dependent upon technological hurdles to express their inner world. Me, on the other hand, dancing fingers over my new MacBook, am very aware of how all of a sudden all I create has changed with the coming of the new laptop. It’s bigger, it’s heavier, more complex. I use more programs at the same time to do things that were previously too slow. I hate it when the tools change the creation.

Then again, weren’t ancient painters depending on specific pigments, horsehair for their brushes? Not anymore, then again. Whatever. Let’s just squeeze the most out of or tools.

We launched Bongo Bob today, a multimedia game with which you can win weekend vouchers. I’ve made the flash site based on a colleague’s designs, and created the special effects. Go have a look at Bob juggling cards.

I’m tremendously relieved it finally got colder. Global warming is scaring the shit out of me. I’m avoiding the newspaper articles, I feel too guilty. A quick Google search for terms like “interglacial polar ice caps” doesn’t strengthen my hope that during previous interglacials, ice caps were much smaller. Reading “It has been estimated that enough water is locked up in Antarctica to raise sea levels around the globe over 200 ft (61 m), drowning most of the world’s major cities, destroying much of the world’s food-producing capacity, and ending civilization.“, I decide never again to laugh with the overused “We didn’t inherit this land from our parents, we loaned if from our children”.

Wauw, a whole 5 weeks without an update. That’s about… exactly… the periode I’ve been at my new job. The devil may wear Prada, but he sure as hell works in advertising.
