My top-boss, or rather ‘the guy with all the stock who inspires us do do great stuff’ Guillaume Vanderstichelen, once said the purchase-experience of a product is a very important step in the relation between that person and the brand. He clarified describing the purchase of a DVD player. It’s not enough to have an easy setup, you need to include the first DVD you want your customers to see. You control the very first experience.

Ever since I heard this, I’ve been evaluating my unwrappings thoroughly. The Wii was excellent: a nice box with 2 clearly labeled compartments, a superb games-disc included, clear on-screen drawings and instructions.

My Proximus Mobile Internet Card isn’t too shabby either: a cute box with strong shielded cables, a simple (Mac-supported) installer that auto-opens clear documentation. Little suggestion though: people like me don’t want to wait 12 hours for the card to activate. I’m on free public Wi-fi blogging about a UMTS connection, for Christ’s sake

I can’t wait to be an old man. They get to say the harshest things and everyone forgives them instantly, because they’re old men.

I hate games that indicate how long I’ve been playing upon every ‘save game’. I remember feeling terrible I’d played Metroid for 9 hours on the game-boy. Imagine what I feel like now the little counter on Zelda:Twilight Princess indicates ’13 hours’. That doesn’t make me a hard-core gamer, but still it’s 13 hours not spend on anything useful.

Perhaps I must embrace this waste of time, train myself in being less productive. Freyas father claims juggling is the perfect mind-cleaner. He obviously doesn’t own a Wii.

Lately, I’ve been taking a different route to the train station in the evening. It takes me past the terrains at the edges of town, where weeds and bushes alternate the concrete pillars that await further construction. Today, I saw the fluffiest whitest bunny possible, running from those bushes towards the clover peeping up from the freshly mowed sidewalk grass. It wasn’t scared of me at all, if I’d have had 5 more minutes I could have touched it. An unexpected encounter that colored my day.

Mum secured part of the Barbarahof in Leuven, that is: if the archeologists ever surrender the terrain. We all have our fingers crossed they don’t come up with a Viking Snek, in chich case they get to digg longer. So far they got 2 cups, a pipe and 2 mini statues, so let’s not panic yet. The picture show Mum and Johan listening to the guide

We threw a nice party for Freya’s birthday. A walking dinner, actually pitta with a zillion fresh ingredients. I love throwing parties. Maybe if we weren’t such freaks who re-arrange their entire house, we’d actually get to throwing them more often.

Some ‘hopeless girl’ acts are too funny.

Girl: Do you know how I should get from the train station to LawStreet?

Guy: That’s quite a walk. You should probably… complex directions

Girl: Are you going there too? Can I walk with you?(At which point I enter the conversation)

Me You can just take a quick Subway to the sub-station called ‘Law’

Girl: So you’re going there? Can I walk with you?

I realized that any car making a sudden turn could kill me, driving at this speed without looking. How could I look? A WII was awaiting me once this DVD had been returned.

When I came home, I unpacked the WII and then washed the dishes for half an hour. Pleasure delayer.
