That’s the end of that

May 24th, 2008 — 12:00am

Strass Interactive and I went our separate ways. A blog is not the appriopriate place to go into detail, suffice it to say other options are on the table which should not keep YOU from doing me an indecent proposal involving that great mix of 3D, video, design and flash.

Rub it in

May 21st, 2008 — 12:00am

When you buy a tube of moisturizing hand lotion at, say, Kruitvat, you basically walk to the isle, grab an container from the shelf and pay for it.

Not so at the Aveda store I happened to pass by. I was listening to Buckley, gazing at the flacons, as I was helped by a girl. Her introduction was lost on Buckley, but this didn’t scare her off. She understood my needs, went behind the counter, grabbed an extra large lotion container (which would have cost around 100€ if it had been purchasable) and started to moisturize my hands using her own.

I’m not used to touching strangers, I even kiss cheeks only after the fifth time I meet a friend. And this wild stranger grabs my hands, caresses my fingers, toys with my lumbricals. I nearly fainted and evidently bought the tube. I wander how they sell lubricant.

Double Life (1990)

May 18th, 2008 — 12:00am

It’s low quality, but just watch that 1999 Playstation ad called ‘Double Life’ again. One of the best ever made. For years, I’ve lived a double life. In the day, I do my job – I ride the bus, roll up my sleeves with the hoi-polloi…

White Power

May 17th, 2008 — 12:00am

I wanted to write something funny about the guy with a ‘White Power’ tatoo o his ass. Instead, I write: Very soon, I will cry for a long time and all the mud will be washed away in the flood.

May 15th, 2008 — 12:00am

I have 10 followers. Not enough for a love-and-suicide-sect, but I mean eBay. I’m auctioning my old Gameboy with 9 games. I think I payed 360€ for all the objects together, so I’m curious how high it will go. There’s currently one bid matching the opening price of 40€, with a day and a half to go. Go, my followers! Make haste! Bid on your charismatic leaders old Gameboy Advance SP! We can always do that group-suicide thing later.

online wedding

May 11th, 2008 — 12:00am

We glow (2)

My wedding photo’s are online! Well not mine, obviously, but Caroline and Johns, as mentioned earlier. I ended up painting in depth-of-field in tho thirds of this selection, ratio I’m sure to improve in the future with better gear. I love it when people stand out thanks to background blur.

As always, I did my best to come up with… ehm… very descriptive titles :-)

Allegro Con Brio

May 10th, 2008 — 12:00am

I’m dead tired, yet very lively. Allegro Con Brio is playing on my ipod, the opening tune for the movie Amadeus, a fast-pitched melody where strings hasten to beat death in a race for their creator. The sun is stronger than the greenish monochromatic lights in the station hall; the stations modern metal frame casts long shadows into the hall to just about where I sit and type. Next to me a girl who smells vaguely of melons, or at least that PickWick melon tea flavor I used to love. I’m not even tempted to tell her this, that’s how in balance I feel. this will be a great day.

Early bird

May 8th, 2008 — 12:00am

I took an early train this morning, since the neighbor had woken me anyway. It’s a strange feeling hearing somebody’s morning routine, muffled voices, grabbing keys, coffee. I know I’m tired, but there’s just too much sun not to feel energetic and alive.

Wedding photo’s

May 8th, 2008 — 12:00am

We glow

I’m editing the wedding photo’s Deksel Studios and I took for the wedding of Karolien and Johan. I’m quite content with the results; it was tough day but the photo’s are good. I’m hoping to buy another lens soon, apart from the 50mm/1.8 I bought last week. There’s a nice 28mm/2.8 I got my eye on, that would be my standard lens on the current camera and a wide angle on the full-frame camera I’ll buy one day :-)

Twitter

May 5th, 2008 — 12:00am

I’ve rolled into Twitter. You may have heard of the idea: instead of Instant Messenging (MSN, ICQ, AIM) to a single person or Blogging larger texts to many, Twittering lets you create a stream of mini messages, commonly texts that describe what you do. You add friends and all their tweets end up in a large steam. It’s a very quick way of following people, since most updates are about 30 words. This is my feed, I haven’t settled on a language yet. Do install TwitterFox, so you don’t have to go to the page to check for updates, but rather see a little floating browser window with new tweets. Tweet!
